Tonight, Barack Obama will deliver the State of the Union Address to Congress. It's going to be a chance for the president of the free World to lay out his agenda for the coming year.
As I write this blog, president Obama is preparing himself for his second State of the Union Address. I'm not entirely sure of what to expect from his delivery because of his up and down record and mainly his struggle with the economy. Overall, I think he did a great job considering the problems he inherited from the last administration.
Yes, the economy should and will again be at the top of his agenda. In his first year, he managed to avoid serious economic disaster or depression. By year two, a financial regulatory system was in place. In tonight's address, president Obama should be strong in job creation because it's the only way the economy is going to become strong and stay strong.
The need to create jobs through education, cutting down deficits and debts should be at the top of his agenda. Such approach, will calm down the conservatives stuck on cutting spending. The president has a serious needs to lay out plans for investing to keep America competitive. The infrastructure of this county is at risk and he can save it through education.
When Obama delivers his State of the Union address tonight, he will be facing more Republicans than last year. In my opinion, that will be his major challenge because last November, the Republicans won control of the House of Representatives and six extra seats in the Senate, giving them the power to block his agenda. One good news for the president, Democrats and Republicans have plan to sit together tonight.
